Hi,
You have the mention about it in user guide, but it should say that this is
absolute necessary to use XHTML1.0 Strict.
Most of web applications I saw use Transitional, even Pear Page prints XHTML
1.0 Transitional by default. More important, if page have no Doctype
declaration, it's treated as Transitional. At least IE 5.x-6.x.
Also there should be note about using HTML_Progress with Pear Page class. By
default it adds XmlProlog which somehow makes IE to treat "Strict" doctype
as transitional:
<?
// This one renders progress bar elements incorrectly
$p = new HTML_Page();
$bar = new HTML_Progress();
?>
<?
// This one renders progress bar elements incorrectly
$p = new HTML_Page();
$p->setDoctype("XHTML 1.0 Strict");
$bar = new HTML_Progress();
?>
<?
// This one works just fine !
$p = new HTML_Page();
$p->setDoctype("XHTML 1.0 Strict");
$p->disableXmlProlog();
$bar = new HTML_Progress();
?>
Don't know about Mozilla-based browsers. They are purists so maybe they
don't have above problems.
Another note, could we implement align for the whole progressbar, something
like:
$ui->setProgressAttributes("align=center");
Otherwise you need to enclose progressbar in DIV and do tricks to position
it as you want.
Best regards!

idea to post this as a bug.
All current browsers support DTD, so why don't used XHTML 1.0 Strict ?
But please, tell us which browser are you using ?
Best regards
Laurent
