Unfortunately, there is no system in place yet to implement easy creation of Console_Getopt2 at pearweb, but it would be best to do it this way.
Alternately, why not create a global flag variable
$GLOBALS['_CONSOLE_GETOPT_BC'] = true;
and if the BC flag is set, do the old behavior, otherwise do the new behavior? This way, you needn't do version 2.0 at all. Users can select the behavior they want via the flag.
