"id number" verification and interpretation

Hi! As my previous post obviously didn't come through (I hope the news server accepts submissions...) I try once again... I didn't find any framework for testing and interepreting all those "id numbers" one has to use - Swiss SSN and immatriculation numbers for my current purpose. That's why I wrote a little concept that I humbly submit to you for commenting: http://www.oeri.ch/ID/ Contrary to "Validate", it should not be a generic validation collection. It covers "ids" ONLY but goes deeper, not only verifying but also interpreting a given id and forming different representations of it. However, I consider CREATING ids out of scope... On the directory mentioned above, you find some source, an example, phpDocumentor docs and a unit test - using included "simpletest" I know already. As I mentioned in the README, the naming is not fixed at all. I appreciate suggestions ;) Let me know, what you think of it or even that something on the line does already exist! Hans-Peter
