LiveUser install problems

I'm having trouble installing LiveUser. I'm running Windows XP with apache, php 4.3.4
and pear 1.3.1. When I try 'pear install LiveUser-beta,' I get:
Bad md5sum for file C:\php\pear\LiveUser-0.9.php
this happens when whether I download it by hand or let pear do it.
version 0.8.1 works fine.
I wanted to throw this out here before I filed a bug, in case there was something I was missing or
something.
