Ok I think I know what is happening. This is a problem in the buffer code which I will need to address. Its not 100% trivial but I should be able to fix it until this weekend. As a general advice: numRows() is never really very speedy. If all you want to know is that there are any rows do this: row = fetch if (row) doID: 633User updated by: thierry dot bo at netcourrier dot comReported By: thierry dot bo at netcourrier dot com Status: Open Bug Type: MDBOperating System: Win32 XPPHP Version: 4.3.2New Comment: After some investigations, I found this: Although the error itself is not in the oci8 $mdb->numRows() function, the bug I reported only occurs if I call $mdb->numRows() before. I commented this function in some places in my code just before the fetchInto call and I did not get the error.
do something with rowwhile (row = fetch) else no rows in result much faster especially once you move to MDB2 where you can do unbuffered queries .. especially if the result sets get big regards, Lukas Smith smith@backendmedia.com _______________________________ BackendMedia www.backendmedia.com berlin@backendmedia.com Linn Zwoch Smith GbR Pariser Str. 44 D-10707 Berlin Tel +49 30 83 22 50 00 Fax +49 30 83 22 50 07
