Justin Patrin (http://pear.php.net/user/justinpatrin) has commented on the proposal for Mail::Mail_smtp_direct. Comment: Because this uses Mail_smtp. It is meant as an alternative, not a replacememt. Actually, I should probably have the class simply use an instance of Mail_smtp instead of extending it now that I think of it...
