Spreadsheet_Excel_Writer fails on unicode string

I have a strange behaviour when writing unicode strings with
Worksheet::writeString();
doesn't seems to set the cell as a unicode string.
I have stuffs like "'¯»»±" in Excel.
Any clue ?
