From now on I will take the approach of I will only consider requests from the lead maintainer. I will then evalutate if I care. This means that if you want me to care about a broken release you will have to ask me before hand. Furthermore I will then decide if I care based on a number of facts: like do I see that the developer is asking me to wipe his butt or is the developer just asking for help if a little mistake happend to slip through etc. I understand that you are miffed about me changing your code. In retrospect I should have bother attempting to fix things for your users. I dont see how this could have taken ages to figure out you causing problems since you also get commit messages. Alas I will not bother in the future. Anyways I am beyond pissed with all of this and I will need a cooling down period. I mean people get on about version naming yet nobody has doen anything serious about it, neither in pear-dev or in the group. Yet everybody tells me we should suspend this we should suspend that. Meanwhile I, and others who care for QA, get called pedantic, power hungry maniacs. regards, Lukas Smith smith@backendmedia.com _______________________________ BackendMedia www.backendmedia.com berlin@backendmedia.com Linn Zwoch Smith GbR Pariser Str. 44 D-10707 Berlin Tel +49 30 83 22 50 00 Fax +49 30 83 22 50 07lsmith Thu Mar 11 07:07:08 2004 EDTThree things here: 1. Thanks for removing the broken release. 2. Please don't touch my package's code without giving me a fair chance to fix it myself. 3. If you're going fix a 'minor issue', please don't change the argument such that it takes me a few minutes to realize why 'package.php commit' no longer works. In short, you *should* have removed the release, but you should *not* have done anything else.Modified files: /pear/Net_SMTP package.php Log:- fixed minor issue in the changelog text - fixed tab to spaces - fixed baseinstalldir - fixed minor issue with calling the package.php from the browser and/or without an argument
