Hi Thomas,
I asume you have already had a look in the manuals, have you? If I
got your problem correctly here is also your solution:
http://pear.php.net/manual/en/package.fileformats.spreadsheet-excel-
writer.intro.php
Just give a filename (including optional path) in the constructor,
and your file will be saved instead of sent to stdout. Though I
haven't yet used it myself I had a look at the source also - and it
should work as described without any problem.
If this didn't help you, please mail again to the list (!) and
explain your problems in more detail.
PS: For such a general problem better use pear-general next time.
