Hi all,
Since the response was so overwhelmingly positive, the (active) PEAR core developers hae decided to integrate Error_Stack into the base PEAR package as PEAR_ErrorStack.
What this means is that it will be available in PHP version 4.3.5 in the PEAR/ErrorStack.php file, and the next PEAR version. I don't plan to change the API unless you discover some major issues that were not considered, so those of you on the cutting edge of development (I guess that would be all of you) should feel free to start (ab)using it.
Be aware that any project which uses PEAR_ErrorStack should be downgraded to alpha/beta quality until PEAR_ErrorStack is considered stable. I hope that will only be a short time, as it does have complete unit tests. You can rely upon methods push()/pop() and their static equivalents as being totally API stable, as well as the constructor and singleton() method. The main API questions I have are on static error retrieval, logging, and the various callbacks.
I'm deleting the PEPr proposal since it's obsolete.
Regards,
Greg
