Hi All:
Sounds good to me.
On the phpmath.com side, I changed the "Functions/Numerical Algorithms"
folder structure to "Functions/Numerical" to jive with your choice. I
noticed however, that I have a couple of "Number Theory" functions and it
is possible that for some people "Numerical" alone would mean Number
Theory.
I loaded a couple of functions into the Numerical folder today (Lukasz
bisection code and fixed point code). See todays news story at phpmath.com
for more info on this and enlarging PHP's hardcoded list of math constants
-math.h
Feel free to use these functions in your own package or not. Lukasz has
indicated an interest in this area himself and I have a moderate interest
as well. Perhaps between us we can start collecting a useful set of
classic numerical algorithms for distribution on both PEAR and phpmath.
You are likely to run into the issue of whether to package your code as
individual functions, function libraries, or classes. Jesus has mentioned
that interceptors might allow us to aggregate code in a flexible manner.
I personally don't have much time to work on this issue myself and have
opted simply to have a math functions folder that is distinct from the
other package folders.
REgards,
Paul
