The PEAR Group would like to inform you that a new Administrative
Document has been published. Its title is
"Handling Votings and Membership (II)"
and it is available at
http://pear.php.net/group/docs/20040322-vm.php
as soon as the automated update of the website is finished.
This document supersedes the Administrative Document "Handling Votings
and Membership" from 20th August 2003. Similar to the predecessor of
this document, the content mainly affects the workflow inside the PEAR
Group and there are only two differences between the versions:
1.: A vote is now considered unresolved, if half or more of the
members of the PEAR Group choose to abstain. Previously more than
half of the members had to abstain for this to happen.
2.: In the same context as in 1., the term "voting members" has been
replaced with just "members". This makes it more clear that not
taking part in a voting automatically results in the vote of the
concerning member being formally counted as abstained.
If you have questions or comments concerning the new document and/or
the changes, please send a mail to pear-group at php dot net.
