In a configuration file, isn't it "cleaner" to have '' or false assigned to a value that needs to be empty? $dsn['username'] = 'root'; $dsn['password'] = ''; I prefer that better to not having the key there at all (i.e. "was it set somewhere else...?" "is it using a default value...?"). Just my opinion. Hans
