Imho most packages can be made working with both php4 and php5.
However, there might be good reasons for using the new functionality
of php5 (e.g. simplicity or speed). This mostly introduces also API-
improvements. And I think it's a good idea to clear the API in this
step.
Maybe we should point out that people who intend to bring up php5-
only-releases should still make the former one make work with php4
*and* php5, even if that means a slight decrease in performance for
the moment? It's one big step now - but maybe in a year or two
everything will have been adjusted and we're done. I don't see
another viable solution.
