Hello,
PEAR 1.3.1 has just been released. Aside from some minor bug fixes, this release incorporates the new PEAR_ErrorStack error handling class. This class will eventaully replace PEAR_Error as the standard way of handling errors and raising errors in PHP 5, as it has full support for both PEAR_Error and Exceptions. At this point, it is stable, documented at http://pear.php.net/manual/en/core.pear.pear-errorstack.php, and fully unit tested.
However, it has not been extensively field-tested due to its young age. For this reason, it is considered alpha quality. If a better way is found to solve the problems it solves, it will be changed to use the better way. This means we need you to try it out in your packages and applications. Report bugs, problems in design or use at http://pear.php.net/bugs/search.php?cmd=display&status=Open&bug_type[]=PEAR
Thanks,
Greg
