Alan Knowles (http://pear.php.net/user/alan_k) has commented on the proposal for RFC::Package
naming, file naming and directory structure RFC.
Comment:
Good start:
* Add to issues
- global namespace polution of top level packages.. - is one of the key factors on not having
'single' named packages.
** We do need exceptions to these:
Mail,Log,Date ? - are there any logical alternative to these..
I would prefer the Top Level prefix to be a 'strong recommendation' but not a be all and
end all.. (eg. very good justification has to be given for poluting the global namespace..)
** we need to explain the logic of when to use
- HTML_Template_Smarty or HTML_TemplateSmary .......
