It seems like this proposal would require each class of a package to be in a separate file. The need to access additional files would reduce performance.I've seen this repeated over and over as if it were a fact. Is there any confirmed profiling showing that opening a new file is a 'heavy' operation for the Zend engine? I'm questioning because it strikes me as really strange. I'd expect the parse operation to be an order of magnitude more complex than requesting an new file handle from the underlying OS. Cheers, P.S. Sorry for veering a bit offtopic. Sérgio Carvalho
