Hi folks, Having read the proposal for Package naming and file naming (http://pear.php.net/pepr/pepr-proposal-show.php?id=55), I would like to know the procedure for updating an existing non-conform package, according to the defined rules, to get conformity.First of all this is still just a proposal. No decision has been made yet.
In fact, I would like to upload a new release for the Var_Dump class (PHP category), following the above rules : the package was previously released under the (non-conform) name "Var_Dump", but to match the defined rules in this RFC, the package should be named "PHP_Var_Dump".I think the proposals state that for existing packages we may make exceptions, especially where this would lead to BC breaks (which would require a new major version). Anyways until a decision is made you shouldnt worry about renaming your package. regards, Lukas Smith smith@backendmedia.com _______________________________ BackendMedia www.backendmedia.com berlin@backendmedia.com Linn Zwoch Smith GbR Pariser Str. 44 D-10707 Berlin Tel +49 30 83 22 50 00 Fax +49 30 83 22 50 07
