CVS Timeout?

Apparently I am a big CVS dummy. I'm trying to check out a CVS copy of pear.

I could swear I did exactly this when checking PEAR out to my home machine last week, but this week at my work machine it seems to fail. Anybody see what I'm doing wrong here?
