Hi Pears,
I'm curious what to do for packages like XML_Parser
which have been broken by the changes to stuff in PHP5...
To change the packages themselves would be a BC break...
so do we need new version numbers?
Of should we do some sort of:
if (version_compare('5.0.0',phpversion()) === 1) {
//current code} else {
// New PHP5 compatible code} The first will ensure that the same package works on PHP4 and 5, but will add quite a bit of bloat... The package I mentioned, XML_Parser is quite an urgent one, as so many other packages depend on it. XML_Tree and XML_Beautifier are partly or completely broken (respectively) because of XML_Parser being broken on PHP5... Thoughts? - Davey
