Duplicate packages?

Hello. I've recently subscribed to pear-dev and also requested and gained an account to pear.php.net as I plan to do my bachelor's thesis on PEAR. My question is mainly about Net_SMS, the quite recently accepted package, since what I was planning to do may somewhat overlap with that. The idea what I had was to make an interface for PHP to GSM-modems and phones that connect to the computer via serial and (if applicable) the PCMCIA-ports. By using this interface a PHP-program could utilise (all feasible) GSM-features. If Net_SMS is to incorporate Gammu in some way as well, is there any call for my idea then? Teemu Näppi
