Hi,
this posting strangely does not show up on the list (yet). My apologies if you should get it now twice.

Hi Stefan,
Image_Text already does support rotation - have a lookoh, my bad, I read on http://www.schlitt.info/index.php/content.projects_image_text that rotation is not implemented yet. I will have another look at it!
or do you mean rotation of single characters (no, do you)?yes (this makes it harder to crack).
Could you provide a demo-image (or two) as well?have you tried the online demo at http://www.hauser-wenz.de/playground/PEAR/Image_CAPTCHA/CAPTCHA_test.php ? Please note that the obfuscation algorithm is of course not complete yet but just a demonstration as I stated in the proposal.
Is there a real "algorithm" that the creators of CAPTCHA describe, that makes test best readable by humans but not OCR? Or does everybodyimplement it his way? no, there is no mandatory algorithm. The only requirement is that the algorithm itself is open to the public.
Generally I like the idea of having such a package - although lately on another mailinglist a blind person said that having such images is"not funny" ... so it should be used with care (and that could maybe be mentioned in the docs/readme). you are right; there are accessibility issues with CAPTCHA images. Some (larger) companies have a special hotline where blind people can call and get assistance. Another option is to generate an alternative CAPTCHA, e.g. a sound file where the phrase is spelled. However this generates additional problems. But yes, this will of course be in the docs. Regards, Christian -- today using a crappy webmail interface. There are days when you should not try to switch your mail client. :-)
