Paul, your assumption that this needs to have complex (heavy) things cannot spawn simple (lite)
things is flawed. Nor will you have a hard time making a proper argument for this.
Both ways have their merit and usually the one that is taken is based on what was first around. Take
Mozilla/Firebird, Cache/Cache_Lite etc. MDB/MDB2 is another example in a way since for the most part
MDB2 is just a more modular MDB.
