Pierre, since you're currently not available via private mail afaik, hope you read this and give us an insight of what those lines of code were developed for?

I have submitted some .diff to the maintainer plus a lot of other implementation. Unfortunately, I haven't had the opportunity to actually 100% test all of the code. I did fix the problem of the free() mentioned above though. I think the code was alpha-level and buggy...
