Hi!
So, I reworked the stuff regarding the comments and suggestions. Some short statements on what was implemented / not implemented and why.

I liked someone's earlier suggestion about providing useful information, such as install commands, etc, in order to make the card a "keeper." This spot would be an ideal place for such info, please.I added some installer commands to the specific section. In general, I think the whole FAQ makes more sense, because it gives more information, but I agree that some installer commands are quite nice in that place.
Considering both websites are clearly laid out, this can be simplified to: Where can I obtain more information? http://pear.php.net/ http://pecl.php.net/I think the general URLs are given on the frontpage, therefore the support URLs make more sense here, even since "support" is a kind of buzzword for business people. --- Frontside --- - Divided diagonal in the colors of PEAR and PECL (green & purple). - Both project names very big in it's specific corner + URL below that, both white. - In the center textual information on both projects together: <snip> <b>Why reinvent the wheel?</b> PEAR and PECL provide high quality components to make your life with PHP more comfortable. With over 600 maintainers from all over the world maintaining more than 250 class packages and PHP extensions PEAR/PECL provide you a tool for every imaginable purpose. Benefit from the security and flexibility of code reviewed by hundereds of professional PHP developers and gain the value of a stable and proven packaging system. </snip> --- Backside --- - Maybe also in blue/green. - Providing either - A little FAQ like this: <snip> What are PEAR and PECL? PEAR is a repository of reusable, object oriented PHP code. PECL is the official repository for PHP extensions. Both repositories are backed by a community of strong developers, resulting in high quality, peer reviewed components. What do PEAR/PECL offer me? Besides a well maintained and QA-ed collection of extentions for free usage the projects offer a common and stable packaging system for PHP components: The PEAR installer. The installer is able to manage PHP files, as well as C extensions for PHP. Where can I get PEAR/PECL? Since PHP 4.3.0 the PEAR/PECL infrastructure is shipped with PHP. For earlier versions you can simply install the installer from http://go-pear.org. If you have PEAR installed, simply try the following commands: pear list To list all currently installed packages. pear list-all To list all available and installed packages. pear list-upgrades To list available upgrades. pear upgrade-all To get all available upgrades. pear config-show To view the current configuration. pear help To get further help on the installer commands. Where do I find the packages? http://pecl.php.net/packages.php http://pear.php.net/packages.php Where can I get help? You will find variouse sources of support (tutorials, talks, mailinglists,...) under the following URLs: http://pecl.php.net/support.php http://pear.php.net/support.php How can I contribute to PEAR/PECL? There are several ways you can support the 2 projects. Even if you don't directly contribute classes / extensions, we are always thankful for help in the areas of documentation, testing, bug reporting and fixing and many more. Simply offer your help on: pear-dev@lists.php.net </snip> I hope that fit's for you, so somone can start a layout.
