PHP only throws errors if you have specified less parameters than needed:
<?php
function foo($bar) {
return $bar+1;
}
foo();
?>
will result in "Warning: Missing argument 1 for foo() ...". The following
code will work without any problems:
<?php
function foo() {
echo "Hello World";
}
foo(1, "bar", null);
?>
