Hello,
I have recently had some problems sending emails with PHP. It turned out that the Subject or the To line contained some French accents, which are not allowed by RFC821-822.
I have developed a simple function that can encode words using quoted-printable/ISO-8859-1.
What I would like to do, is to provide a package that can encode/decode words for using them in email headers. This is described in RFC2047 and a similar package exists for Perl (MIME::Words).
The question is: What name should I use for the package, and should it be somewhat connected to Mail?
If the proposal seems interesting, I'd like some recommendation before I start writing PEAR compliant code and wrap the work into an object.
Sincerely,
Olivier
