Hi,

Tobias Schlitt (http://pear.php.net/user/toby) has commented on the proposal for Images::Image_CAPTCHA. I recently saw truing using ASCII art like output. That's also a nice alternative. Maybe one could rework the package structure to implement a driver backend, rename it to Text_Turing (or similar) and provide several backends for the turing? this sounds like a good idea, although I am not a fan of ASCII CAPTCHAS. Anyway we would have to discuss the new package title.
Colin Viebrock has published some experiences on audio turing: http://viebrock.ca/code/16/turing-with-audio I have read that and am working on a paper with Tobias to show that audio captchas are not ready yet. However you are right when you say that the extensibility of the package for other output means is a good thing (TM) ! :-)
Would be nice to have those methods in one package. I would be happy to help out with some stuff (ASCII art driver?), if you like.I'll mail you in private about that (or we have a chat at LinuxTag, but I don't know yet if I can find the time during my short stay there tomorrow). Best, Christian
