Not entirely accurate - I have become very annoyed with misinformation regarding PEAR_ErrorStack vs. Exceptions. Myth #1: you must use either Exceptions or PEAR_ErrorStack, and cannot use both Myth #2: PEAR_ErrorStack is not php5-compliant Myth #3: you can't re-package PEAR_ErrorStack error conditions Myth #4: it is the same size, speed, and uselessness as PEAR.php The list continues to grow as casual comments from developers who have not yet used the package claim it does not solve any problems successfully. I do not claim that everyone has said the same thing, but the "attitude" towards the package is so universally negative, I am completely perplexed. If it is so useless, where the hell was all the opposition to it back in March? EVERYONE voted +1 before it was put into the PEAR package. I requested comments on PEAR_ErrorStack in March, when it was first accepted, and specifically kept it alpha to allow for major changes later. I did respond to personal attacks, but that had nothing to do with the package at all, but choice of a name for it. I will not be surprised when people start saying "channels is useless, who would ever want to use that?" :) It's a question of effort and seeking collaboration only to receive animosity. How would you respond? I've also been slaving away to find a solution to the problems of error handling in PEAR for nearly a year (remember Error_Raise?) It's a problem that has been with us forever.
