Davey,I'm sure Hans read all of the email, and I'm sure he reached the same conclusion I did: You didn't take the time to read through the wiki page. Most of the problems you pose in your message are answered right there. Alas, right now, if you read the wiki page, you'll find little excuse to add a dependency on an external package for error handling in PHP5. The text there really needs someone defending PEAR_Error or PEAR_ErrorStack.
