The origin of the proposed package is written in PHP4 - I pointed you to the location :) It is not just doable - it is already done. Both classes are 100% compatible regarding their APIs - they just use PHP4 OOP and PHP5 OOP respectively. As stated - my only uncertainty is, how to propose both versions - if wanted by the PEAR devs. Matthias- As for PHP4 support being a requirement, of course I disagree with that :) You can always create a backport for PHP4 if you desire.Agreed! But if it takes quite few changes or maybe even just needs testing, I don't see why it should not be doable (read: be done).
