Hi all,
After some edifying conversations with Heino Gehlsen and others, I've made some substantial changes to the channel.xml format, including the fact that channel-1.0.dtd has been replaced by channel-1.0.xsd. If you have installed PEAR_Server, you will need to take the following steps:
1)
delete all the .reg files in .channels (subdirectory of your php_dir configuration value)
2)
$ cd /path/to/pear-core
$ cvs update
$ pear upgrade package-PEAR.xml
$ pear channel-add http://pear.chiaraquartet.net/channel.xml
$ pear upgrade chiara::PEAR_Server
