That means you need to install PHPs mhash extension. http://php.net/mhash
It seems like the mhash extension needs to be registered as a required dependency for the Net_DNS package. This sounds like a job for the PEAR QA team. =)

Thanks for the heads up :-) Unfortunately, this release is very old and we can't very well pull it at this point. Even if we could, it wouldn't make much sense as the previous versions undoubtedly will have the same bug. So I have opened a bug report with QA status. [1] This package has a number of open bugs, including assignment to $this. The last release was over a year ago.
