I would like to refactor both the XML_RPC5_php5 class (in a more OO fashion) as well as the server class. The server class could be streamlined a lot if the concept of multiple URI XML-RPC servers gets dropped. This can be done with multiple PHP scripts, each with its own server, no?
This can be done, but what is much more difficult is mapping classnames to the same server. You can't name methods "package.listAll", for instance, so you either have to use a method map or provide different servers for different classes. I think the method map is a bit kludgy, but if you can find a way to keep the ability to split things up the way they should be, then that's fine. I want to avoid forcing people to have monster server classes at all costs. As long as "refactor XML_RPC5_php5" doesn't mean "add tons of objects and code" I'm fine with it. I designed it simply to mirror exactly the procedural interface from the xmlrpc extension, and to require as little actual data encapsulation as possible, so you can work with the actual php code without modification beyond making a copy of it.
If it's ok with you, I'll take your code and do some work on it by the weekend.
Always fine. I like good code, especially if I didn't write it and don't have to do all that debugging and testing crap :) Greg
