Hello everyone,
a long time ago there was a discussion about a similar library, named
Net_ICQ (or as you like, Net_OSCAR). Unfortunately I never finished it
because there was too much work to be done to make it a pear class. Now,
I am up with a new library, using the TOC (Version 2.0, ICQ2Go uses this
one) protocol to communicate with the AIM and/or ICQ network (send
messages, receive messages, send events, receive events, manage server
side contactlist, request database information about users using
db_relay messages, etc.). It was designed to make development of ICQ/AIM
bots or clients very easy using PHP4. I refused to use PHP5's new
functionality for some reasons I don't want to point out here.
Having Pear in mind, everything was put into a namespace called
"Net_TOC2" (constants, classes, global variables). In my oppinion it is
a good idea to name it TOC2 instead of something containig ICQ or AIM,
because there are several ICQ and/or AIM protocols out there (OSCAR and
older ICQ protocols for example). It uses event handlers (functions
and/or methods called upon incoming events) to talk to TOC - similar to
meebey's Net_SmartIRC class but for ICQ/AIM.
Is there a need for such a pear class? And if yes, anyone interested in
reviewing it for pear compatibility?
regards
daniel
