Hi,

PHP has built-in support for this in form of the msession extension: http://de.php.net/msession Do you think it is possible to fall back on msession if the extension is loadable? msession provides client functionality. HTTP_SessionServer is a daemon written in PHP. There are (probably) totally different protocols, so a fallback on msession makes no sense in this case. This would be useful for a Net_MSession package. I could not find information on the protocol msession uses, would be interesting to see how client/server communication works.
And it would be interesting to see how the system scales under load. (I'm aware that it won't scale like a built-in extension, but still ...) Sorry, this is still in an alpha state, so I have not made any benchmarks. Once the protocol is stable, I'll probably go ahead and implement a session module for PHP in C.But I'm not proposing client functionality here, HTTP_SessionServer_Client is just an example that shows how to use HTTP_SessionServer.
