Hi,

I also think you should be using the DOM extension for this. As it requires PHP5 anyways, the DOM extension is enabled by default - make the most of it. I can't see, why he should use DOM for this. He needs to add PHP functionality to the nodes. And while you may extend DOM classes, I'm not sure you may specify a separate class for each element. This is very closely modeled after XML_XUL, and I like that, as it opens the road for integrating these two packages.
In fact, if you *don't* use the DOM extension, I'm sure someone will request you make this a PHP4 package! In most cases, this is me :) But I talked to Markus prior to the proposal and encouraged him to include support for PHP5 features like the Iterator and ArrayAccess interface. So I think no one will ask him to make this PHP4 compatible.Stephan
