OK, I've thrown together an implementation of the classes "DB_Lite",
"DB_Lite_common", and "DB_Lite_mysql". They're attached; could someone test
them out? MySQL isn't working on my computer right now... for a reference,
the DB.php, common.php, and mysql.php files in the PEAR::DB packages add up
to 77.7 kb, this is around 43 KB... the files are attached. :D

PS -- just to note for anyone who wants to test this out, it might have bugs
(even parse errors); I just finished deleting code from it. And the
common.php and mysql.php files should go in the directory "DB_Lite"...
