readable filesize package

Hello all, While programming a file browser, I came to the problem of displaying the filesize in a human-readable format. There are numerous 20-liners out there which do the thing, but not in PEAR. Now my question: Would it make sense to create a package dedicated for converting file sizes to human readable ones with support for both 1000 and 1024 base? Or is that too small for an own package?
