Hi Martin,

What do you think of making this package a bit more platform-independent? IMO it would be nice if the package not only supported Windows but also Linux, FreeBSD, OS X etc. (I'm thinking of some driver-based architecture.) For now I just wanted to have windows supported, as the base for a "getRoots" function the way java provides. On *nix systems, you have a nice "/" root from which you can reach all directories, and windows lacks in this point. Exactly this is the intention of my class: provide a list of all possible roots for the windows operating system. From this point of view, *nix doesn't have a "drives" concept - all is below root. IMO a package File_Media could give information about available media like CD-ROMs and USB-Sticks and use the information File_WinDrives gives. "Media" would be a platform-independent term to describe these items, but "Drives" is a windows-only term. Regards/MfG, Christian Weiske -- XMMS is playing now: Nothing, nothing, nothing. Oh, let's turn the player on.
