Lukas Smith (http://pear.php.net/user/lsmith) has commented on the proposal for Database::DB_Model. Comment: I have added a "disable_query" option to MDB2. In theory this should enable you to use the MDB2 schema methods along with a debug handler to extract the RDBMS dependent SQL queries.
