Hello
I had a look today into the lastID implementation of pear::db (mostly,
'cause someone complained on the phplib-maillist about not implementing
mysql_inserted_id in pear, but that's another issue) and i found it rather
strange.
First it didn't create the table automatically, 'cause it didn't detect an
DB-error (no idea why, this worked in former times.)
second, and more important. why does it create a new table for each
sequence and make an entry for each and every inserted id? I find the way,
phplib does it (one table for all sequences and just updating the number)
much better and easier to maintain. or did i really miss something
(performance or whatever) ?
so long
