As for tab's this is a major PITA to work with
In my company we have different editors and they do interpret tabs
differently, yet for good reasons we still don't use 4-spaces instead of
tabs, its just not as convenient
The applies for where to put the '{' and '}' .. its just no big deal at
all and some people just can't deal with one way or the other .. but
that should be the main authors choice (I assume you guys had some
reason to do it that way but your '{ }' rules are also not consistent
across all rules)
I have no problem with naming conventions and some other general stuff,
but formatting the code (as long as it is formatted on some very basic
level) should be up to the coder
But I also assume that this has been discussed before and you have made
the choice to not do is that way. If I turn out to be a regular
contributor I will most likely write a "compiler" to convert to the PEAR
formatting style ;)

I assume the reason for the cross post is that we are discussing PEAR
specific stuff in this thread and not Zend Engine 2 related stuff
