Hi,
Couldn't there be an input field at the top of the bug report form,
to invite people to enter which version of the package they use ?
Or if it is current CVS ?
Most of the bug reports I see never mention that version. Of course
it usually is the latest, but it is hypothetic. When it gets hard
to reproduce the bug, I just sit there asking myself if the user
is using the latest or not.
Of course, the best would be some tool that dumps the version of
all packages which the concerned package depends on (as Debian's
reportbug), but a simple field as explained above would be a good
start.
