Hi, I dont yet know the specific array format that Wez will choose to add to PDO. I will certainly try and make sure that the keys are compatible as much as possible with PEAR. Some background infos: PDO uses a dsn string format that is very much based on the idea that one should use the native dsn string format where possible and use something that is as easy as possible to parse and stick into each specific driver. Therefore the format is very different for each RDBMS. As a possible remedy for this situation we agreed at the PDO meeting in Cancun to add a function that will accept an array and will return a dsn string specific to either one of the chosen drivers. Therefore I think having a DB_DSN package seems to make sense to me in order to get from an RDBMS independent string to an array useful in PDO. Also currently we are maintain the same code 3 times in CVS (DB, MDB, MDB2). What do you think Daniel? Is it worth the extra dependency? Also we need to document every array key we currently use in any of the drivers. I dont think that all of the recent additions have made it into the docs just yet. regards, Lukas
