I use a tab to 4 spaces converter:
tab.ph
------
#!/usr/bin/php -q
<?php
$fd = fopen('php://stdin', 'r');
while ($line = fgets($fd, 1024)) {
echo str_replace("\t", ' ', $line);
}
fclose ($fd);
?>
And run it:
cat file.php | tab.ph > file_.php
Perhaps that helps,
