Re: [announce] XML_RSS

Hi, there is an issue about RSS files.. im not sure if this has any effect to us, but according to a german newssite, RDF is violating a patent by "UFIL Unified Data Technologies (UDTL)" a canadian company. Im not sure how serious this is, because im not into that patent business, but the patent they mentioned was: http://swpat.ffii.org/vreji/pikta/txt/ep/0797/806/ they mentioned to that PEARL (http://www.pearlltd.com/) is has send urging letters to Netscape because RSS violating this patent too.. well, im not sure if that does mean anything to pear project, but i wanted to mention it. regards, Peter Petermann PS: for all Germans, article can be found @ http://www.heise.de/newsticker/data/hps-07.01.02-000/
