While I certainly appreciate the effort, I believe the correct protocol is to
file a bug with a link to a patch, or the updated copy itself if that's too
much work. There are quite a few packages in PEAR which are not in PEAR CVS,
and obviously you'd have to do something along these lines to handle those.
Also, doesn't Karma restrict the ability of any one dev from running amok in
other packages?
I know I wouldn't be thrilled to see people screwing around with my code in
CVS with no warning. And I don't consider a blanket "hay guys, I'm editing
package.xml files" to be adequate warning.
