Before PFM, it was stone age , and we (developpers) should make ourself the package.xml. Before PFM 1.6 it was the "french 1789 revolution" ;-) And i hope PFM 1.6+ will be gold age with never (if possible) let down some (category) users. 2) It's up to you to decide what status/grade (lead, contributor, dev, helper) will be good (it's all the same for me). if i can contribute and help you in your work, it will be with pleasure. To conclude: To be a leader for a package is a big responsability. i'm still leader [1] on 3-4 packages, and i don't want too much work and let down one of them. I want to keep QA for all of them. But i agree with you when you saidi've built an unofficial version of PEAR_PackageFileManager (PFM) (merge of PFM 1.6.0a2 and 1.5.2) that can run under PEAR 1.3.6 I'll publish it on my website when i'll be back in few hours. If someone is interrested, drop me a mail. Happy PFM using :o)Laurent: I am very happy to see you are using PFM so enthusiastically, and would like to make two requests 1) could you remove the forked PFM ASAP? This may serve to confuse more than to help others. I have no problem with you using it in your own work, but don't advertise it as a public thing. There's plenty of time to work something out for the next official release, since the last one was about 11 hours ago. 2) would you become a lead on PFM? This way, you could patch the source and do releases. All I would ask is first look at stuff prior to commit in order to OK it. I will remain an active maintainer, but I think you have done more than enough to demonstrate an eagerness to maintain the package :) Thanks, Greg Greg,
"... All I would ask is first look at stuff prior to commit in order to OK it...." and if it should be two leaders for this package, it will be necessary you on the top Lead (the creator of this baby), and not me or someone else.Laurent [1] http://pear.php.net/user/farell
