I like how the ./configure script bombs if you try to install with PEAR, but not XML-RPC (it says "either do --with-xmlrpc or --without-pear"), however, you also need zlib and this same check doesn't appear to work. It should do the same if --with-zlib hasn't been specified or isn't found I would think. This only applies to PHP's 5.1 configure script. --Joe -- Joseph C.
